Madeleine Abas is one of the UK’s leading health and safety lawyers, heading up the team at niche health and safety law firm, Osborn Abas Hunt, and training and development firm Yellow Triangle.  She was a founding member and then for 7 years held the role of Chair of the national Health and Safety Lawyers Association. Recognition of her profile and achievements in health and safety law includes an entry in Who’s Who.

She has over 25 years’ experience in designing and delivering tailored workshops on topics such as: Effective Health and Safety Leadership, Health and Safety Leadership for Managers, CDM – What Good Looks Like and Accident Investigation and Incident Response. Her clients operate in a very wide range of industries including construction, property management, utilities, public services, highways, manufacturing and retail, and public sector organisations including the emergency services and local authorities.

Madeleine has worked with numerous Boards of Directors to guide them in improving their contribution to health and safety performance, updating them in the latest leadership expectations and developing their knowledge and ability to probe safety-related information.

She is regularly engaged to speak at industry conferences, and recent events include the Chief Fire Officers’ Association Conference, the IOSH National Safety Symposium, the IOSH Railway Safety Conference, Police National Risk Conference and Construction News Safety Conference. She has also travelled to the USA and Canada to deliver training for an international training solutions provider, focussed on designing, developing and delivering site specific operations and maintenance; as part of this collaboration, she was also asked to train other trainers, to take her expertise and knowledge to further corners of the globe, such as Australia.

She holds the Lead Accident Investigators Certificate and a number of industry competency cards. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Construction Health and Safety Manual and a regular contributor to various industry publications.
