CDM 2015 – What Good Looks Like – Considerations for Managers

Description

This one day programme, aimed at Project and Site Managers, has run for multiple years alongside its sister programme for Directors.

This Managers course, with the ability to be tailored according to the specific division of a business, for example construction or facilities management, seeks to enhance the understanding of the legal H&S framework applicable to the construction industry and in particular the legal duties towards sub-contractors and self-delivery of construction work. By reflecting upon the current approach, delegates focus on identifying areas for making an enhanced contribution towards health and safety performance.

Covers

  • The legal duties and liabilities of Managers
  • The key legal framework Managers must understand
  • The impact of commercial decisions on health and safety
  • CDM today – the general duties and the inputs Managers should have in ensuring compliance
  • A look at the relevant duty holding positions of CDM and what good looks like in the eyes of the HSE and courts
  • General requirements – Part 4 of CDM
  • The learning from accidents/incidents/near misses
  • Action plan
